Who can vote in person

All registered voters in Texas can vote in person, either during Early Voting or on Election Day.

Where to vote

Voters registered in Bexar County can vote at any Bexar County polling center during Early Voting and on Election Day.

• Find a Bexar County vote center where you’d like to vote at the Bexar County Elections Department. Early voting sites are posted two weeks before early voting starts, and Election Day sites are posted shortly before that day.
• Don't have computer access? Call the Bexar County Elections Department at 210-335-8683 to ask where your nearest vote center is.

When to vote

• For every election there is a period of days before Election Day when any voter registered in Bexar County can vote.
• Check the Bexar County Elections site close to the first day of Early Voting to confirm dates and times.
• Don't have computer access? Call Bexar County Elections Department at 210-335-8683 to find out vote center hours.
• Election Day hours are always 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Don't leave if you are still in line when the vote center is scheduled to close—you have the right to remain in line and vote!

What to take with you when you vote

Required:

• Acceptable ID for Voting.

Recommended:

• A mask & hand sanitizer.
• Voter registration card.
• List of candidates you have decided to vote for:

  • Find an LWVSA Voters Guide at your local library to read about the candidates and write down your selections.

What to expect when you go to vote

Safety precautions may be in place to address COVID-19.

All polling places are required by law to be accessible to voters with disabilities.

• Find more information about your rights and options in the Voters with Disabilities section of this website and at Disability Rights Texas.
• Call Bexar County Elections Department at 210-335-8683 to confirm availability of accessible accommodations at the polling place where you intend to vote.
• Call the Disability Rights Texas Voting Hotline at 1-888-796-VOTE (8683) with specific questions about voting or if you feel your voting rights have been violated at the polls.

Check-in process

• When you arrive at the polls, you will check in with a poll worker.
  • You are required to show an acceptable form of photo identification (see ID for Voting)
  • Showing your voter registration card will make check-in more efficient, as well as provide proof of registration, although it is not required.
  • You will be be asked to sign a form
• The poll worker will give you a ballot card and direct you to a touchscreen voting machine
