Voter outreach

One of the League's core functions is to empower voters. One of the most effective ways to do this is to get out into the community: to listen, to answer questions, to problem solve, and to encourage people to use their voice and to exercise the rights and responsibilities that we are so fortunate to have in a democracy.

Our task is to provide unbiased, factual, nonpartisan information that people can use to better understand the election process and reach their own voting decisions. The League encourages people not only to vote, but also to vote informed.

As with all LWVSA efforts, voter outreach activities are strictly nonpartisan.

In addition, the League's voter outreach activities never involve issue advocacy of any kind.

Voter registration

League volunteers who are Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars, referred to as VDRs, register voters and deliver completed applications in person to the Bexar County Elections Office, an important service to Bexar County voters, as there is no online voter registration in Texas.

• Come add your ideas to the mix and we'll take action together!
• Become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) so that you can register voters
• Help develop content for social media accounts
• Film brief videos targeting different populations on various aspects of voting
• Develop content for the LWVSA.org website
• Brainstorm novel ways to reach voters
