President's message

Ever wonder how the League sustains itself financially? Fortunately, many people give to the League year-round. We call those people volunteers. They give generously of their time and talents and their value to the League is truly incalculable. Because we are a volunteer-driven organization, the monetary donations we receive go directly to support our civic participation and election information efforts. Only 15% of our funding is spent on administrative costs, such as insurance, storage and technology.
Our funding comes mainly from individual donors, foundations and corporations. We also apply for and receive grants. The national and state Leagues provide less than $2750 in general support annually, with our portion of the membership dues adding another $3500.
To continue to grow the League’s impact on our community, we must continue to raise funds. That is why I am asking you to support our fall luncheon fundraiser, Cultivating Citizens, Growing the Future of Democracy. We would love for you to sponsor a table or bring a few friends to the event. The event date is October 20 and an individual ticket price is $50.00. You will find more information about the event and can register here.
I hope to see you in October, if not before!
